Mrs. Macs Kitchen was originally founded by Jeff MacFarland in 1976 who named it in honor of his mother and her recipes. Built in 1947 the building was one of the few places in the Keys where you could get a bite to eat as Graingers Gulf Side Inn. In 1987 Jeff hired Angie as a cook where they began working side by side, shortly after Paula was invited to work with them. In 1988 Mrs. Macs was purchased by Angie. Jeff moved to Vero Beach where he has Mrs. Macs Filling Station restaurant. Sisters, Paula & Angie, continue to work together today. While keeping with many original recipes we have expanded in all areas. We have continuously been voted “The Best” in the Peoples Choice Awards and Best Hometown Café along with numerous other awards and acknowledgements. We have been a locals favorite for years and we have grown to be famous world wide, bringing many people back year after year. Our goal is to continue to serve award winning food with fantastic service in a classic FL Keys atmosphere and keep you coming back for more. The New Mrs. Macs Kitchen II
Opened in February 2012 a great addition to our Original location since 1976. Keeping with our great 38 year long tradition of serving up good eats with good service. A fantastic addition with spacious parking and northbound US1 access with plenty of room to bring your friends.

The Mrs. Macs II location specializes in large menu choices for all, vegetarians, vegans and gluten free included. Serving fresh, high quality, homemade comfort food including local sustainable seafood & Certified Angus Beef steaks. Where service and cleanliness is as important as the food. Delicious homemade Key Lime Pie. 25 wines by the glass and refreshing cocktails from our our full bar.

Just eaten at Mrs Macs Kitchen 2. I had the chilli with a side of rice and fries and my wife had the Biffalo burger, both large plates of food and good value. Quick service and attentive staff (thanks Bridgette) excellent Vanilla milkshake and large soft drinks. Only had room to share a desert, but the rum cake was good. We would have had Key lime pie, but had already had that for lunch!
Go try out this excellent place whilst your in Key Lago.

Its been two years since we were in Key Largo – and Mrs. Macs was our first stop when we came back. The lobster bite appetizer was wonderful and entree of yellow tail in a lobster sauce was beyond great!
We always enjoy the various menu options for their creativity and great taste! The fun, friendly family atmosphere was exactly what we needed on our first night!

We dined at the original Mrs. Macs on the way to Key West and Mrs. Macs II on the way home. The original has much better "old Florida" ambiance but both have the same great food. The chili is good, pork sandwich, Philly and fish. You MUST have the Key Lime Freeze. Hint, there is a coupon for a free Freeze in the Florida Keys booklet. We paid the first time. No problem, definitely worth every cent.
